Develop idea

At the first, I focused on shadow only. However, I found it was hard to take a professional picture of a shadow. therefore, I tried to create images by using illustrator and Photoshop. 

First of all, I research books of shadow, Then, I found silhouette books. 

Silhouette has a similar meaning of shadow. “An illustrated outline filled in with a solid colour(s), usually only black, and intended to represent the shape of an object without revealing any other visual details; a profile portrait in black, such as a shadow appears to be."

Owing to silhouette represent the object with black, it could make people guess and imagine from their own perspective. To recognize my silhouette work, I chose the theme of the major project. Silhouette usually made from black with white background. In my opinion, It means ‘contrast’. Therefore I started finding stories about the inner conflict or conflict with others, good and evils.

In addition, I found this interesting book cover while searching silhouette examples.

Then I thought I can use a typo to my silhouette project.

Before the beginning, I did a simulation of my project to the mini size.

now I will set up a plan of the major project. In addition, I will start to search how to make a mini book and find examples, page layout, size and think how final outcome looks like.
